GOOLE TOWN CRICKET CLUB SENIOR PRESENTATION NIGHT

Presentation 5th October 2024

Goole Town Cricket Club held their Senior Presentation Night on 5th October at the Clubhouse.

A very entertaining evening took place. The event included entertainment from singer Lukas Bowker and a pie and peas supper.

Secretary David Caldicott highlighted the successes this year including the addition of solar panels to the clubhouse roof, the preparation of the football pitch, the successful marquee ball and dinners and the plan for a new roller.

The 1st team finished 10th in the York Senior League Championship East League. The 2nd team finished in 3rd position in the Ebor Division 3. The Third Academy team finished 2nd out of 19 in the Sunday league.

Stand out performances for the 1st team came from Ben Shelton with almost 600 runs including a century.
For the 2nd team Steve Hicks scored a 111.
Young player Lucas Matthews took 5 for 6 for the 3rd team.
Ciaran Smith scored over 1000 runs across the 3 senior teams.

The Sam Shackleton cup for 1st team fielding Ben Shelton

The Hinchcliffe bowling trophy for the 3rd team with 20 wickets at an average of 12 and a best performance of 4 for 28. Henry Appleby

The Christie batting trophy for the 3rd team with 288 runs and was only out twice to average 144 with a top score of 86 not out. Harry Pierce

The Jack Garland bowling cup for the 2nd team with 31 wickets at an average of 12 and best of 6 for 42 Jake Kennedy

The Bamforth bowling cup for the 1st team with 28 wickets average 25 and a best of 5 for 42 Matty Cooper

The Joe Eastwood batting cup for the 2nd team with 242 runs at an average of 25 and a best innings 80 Will O’Donnell.

The Bamforth Batting cup for the 1st team with 598 runs at an average of 35 and a best of 108 not out Ben Shelton

The Speckley batting cup with over 1 thousand runs over the 3 senior teams goes to Ciaran Smith

The Freda Caldicott trophy for notable achievement. Also to mark an exceptional season for Ciaran. Scoring over 1000 runs in a season over the 3 senior teams, averaging 40 runs overall. Trophy goes to Ciaran Smith.

The Ernie Wood trophy for outstanding individual performance for the 1st Team
For his all round performance against Londesboro Park taking 5 for 42 and scoring 34 to take Goole to victory.

For his performance at South Milford scoring 111 in just 57 balls. Steve Hicks

The Ernie Wood trophy for outstanding individual performance for the 3rd team this year goes for his performance against Gilberdyke scoring 86 not out in 36 balls including12 ‘4’s and 4 ‘6’s and then taking 3 wickets for 8 runs in 3 overs. Archie Falkingham.

The Edmund Gibbins Clubman of the Year For his organisation and work in raising over £10,000 in sponsorship for the Club this year the award goes to Ashton Nottingham

Further reading
